Hackathon project
Opportunity: During a two-day hackathon, our team noticed that many company links were missing Open Graph (OG) images. OG images are thumbnails that appear when links are shared via social media or messaging, which help with brand recognition. We identified an opportunity to enhance our pages by adding OG images.
Solution: Our team developed a tool that crawled all company pages to identify those missing OG images. Users could select a URL, edit the title and meta description, and choose from suggested branded images. The tool also provided a preview of how the OG image would appear on various social platforms.
Outcome: The team won the 'Best Execution' award for this project. Leadership quickly recognized the importance of OG images and initiated their incorporation across all pages. Currently, all company URLs feature a generic OG image, with plans for custom OG images for future pages to better fit specific page needs.

Prototype
During the hackathon, I served as the lead designer on a team of developers. My role involved designing the tool's look and feel and creating a prototype for the developers to reference. The early stages of the prototype were showcased during our initial hackathon pitch.
Image Options
As part of the project, I created three options for each line of business to offer a variety of choices. Drawing on my experience at Ally, I selected appropriate images for each business line based on extensive exposure to the company's marketing materials.
